William E. Runyan, carrier on the Waynetown RR No. 2, has drive his horse, "Old Bill," 60,669 miles in the past 8 years. Out of the proceeds of the horse's labor, Mr. Runyan has bought an auto.-typed by kbz

Note:  Bill  & Lucy moved to Canada (Vauxhall).  He was a butcher in various places in that area and served as a post master.  William Eli Runyan and Lucy Belle Blackford were married in Montgomery County 7 June 1894 and lived so happily together for over 6 decades before her death in 1955.  He passed away 27 March 1969 in Taber, Alberta Canada at age 95 and both are buried in Vauxhall.  

On his WWI draft papers, he is living in Alberta but is listed as having a permanent address of Waynetown, Indiana and was listed by a counsular agent for Montgomery County at age 45 (born May 3, 1873) and a farmer.  One eye was almost blind.  He had brown eyes, brown hair and was of medium height and built, age 45.  He and Lucy returned in July 1926 and again in 1944 to see their adopted son Charles N. Owens and other relatives.
